Stretched Concrete
Stretched concrete explores the capability of a fabric’s tensile strength in the casting process of a large organic forms. The form of the table was organically produced through a technique of fabric being stretched over a large prefabricated frame. The frame served only to ensure that the process produced a table with 4 legs, aside from this, the form was directly informed by the casting material filling the negative space created by the stretched fabric. The production method allowed concrete, a material known for its strength and rigidity to be almost suspended in a fluid state.
